Oh I Wish I Were An Oscar Mayer Weiner

Ah, but unlike a pack of 12 of the mystery meat tube steaks, there's only one weiner of Pause, Ponder and Pun. But there were many great efforts...

As you'll recall this was this week's pic...
Who were our honourable mentions? Well lotgk scored big again this week with...
"This is not what I meant by a "Full Nelson!"
Who passed off to Skye, with...
"No, but I thought you may be interested in joining me in "The Full Monty!"
MikeWJ at Too Many Mornings drove to the paint with...
Sports Announcer: "In what may be the most wildly popular NBA half-time competition ever, Nelson is signaling the length of Duke's penis to the referees now, and it appears to be an incredible 2 feet long. Folks, I guess it's true what they say about black men, especially black men with large feet! The sight of this incredible feat of sportsmanship and spunk has left this announcer all choked up. It's truly a momentous day for roundball fans everywhere!"
And Lady Sarcasm scored a field goal with...
"Nothing but rim!"
But it was Chris@Maugeritaville who came through with the three pointer in overtime with my favourite:
That's one magic Johnson.
Congrats to everyone for playing. Chris, you can now cheer...

Sorry about the above deletion.

I haven't had enough DDP yet. I skipped every other word! None of it made sense!

Anyhoo...congrats to Maestro Chris and all the other honorable mentions!

My brain could not come up with a funny for this one. Thank goodness there will be more opportunities. And I will try again.

*smile*

dizzblnd: Yep the quality was mighty high.

Quirks: 1)why should today be any different ;) 2)Like Long John Silver used to say: "I'll keep an eye out for ya, matey"
You know, I thought I was pretty smart with the wonderfully subtle "He scores, he shoots!" But Chris@Maugeritaville definitely hit the penis on the head with "That's one magic Johnson." I laughed out loud when I read that, so kudos to Chris, who deserved to win hands down!

Congrats!

Speaking of weiners, the mystery shrouding the 8 pack Oscar Mayer weiners and the 12 pack hot dog buns. Why is that?

I had actually thought of another one but didn't submit it...

"This wasn't the first time Nelson had been hit in the face with the ball, but it WAS the most awkward."

Thanks for the award!

Mike WJ: They were all creative and mighty fine but Chris put me over the edge.

lotgk: We have the reverse problem in Canada. Burger and diogs come in 12 packs but the buns are packaged as 8s. WTF?

Chris: I anticipated answers referring to full Nelsons but didn't anticipate johnsons! Way to go guy!

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
