Pause Ponder and Pinch

We had plenty of great captions this week.  It was tough to come up with a winner.  For example, last week's winner, Kelly, gave us:

Are they ripe yet?

And perennial player Moooooog had:

It was on or around this time that Billy regretted his desire to stop breastfeeding.

Skye had several good captions, among them:

I think I like older women.  Little girls my age don't have anything like this to play with.

But it was FreakSmack who dialed in this week's winner with:

Birwearwoooooooshhhh...  Biroooooo...  Come in Tokyo...  Birwooo...  Tokyo... Do you copy?

Congratulations FreakSmack, you be hangin' with dufus this week.  Way to go.

Congratulations FreakSmack, great job on the caption!

You know Mr. Dufus, sir, I absolutely loved this pic! Captions were jumping around in my head like you wouldn't believe! I do so enjoy coming up with captions, especially when they come so easily :)

Skye: Heh, heh, you left me with four, one of which made "honourable mention". Way to go. Practice makes perfect.

Alright! Thank you!

I had a high school girlfriend who could never find the humor in that. I always thought it was funny...

"Come in Tokyo." When I was a freshman in high school, a cute senior guy asked me if I wanted to play "Come In Tokyo." Naive me, who was flattered a SENIOR was talking to me, fell for it hook, line and sinker. I'm surprised he didn't take me snipe hunting.

Kelly: Oh, that's rich! I'll bet you were so proud your chest swelled with pride.
Freaksmack nailed it! I tried and tried and tried, but couldn't come up with anything. Nice work!
P.S. -- I love bombs over Tokyo. Ambulance and red light, too. Good memories.

Mike: I laughed and laughed at FreakSmack. Then I chuckled over his caption.

Tales From The Supermarket

Bob and Brenda worked in the supermarket. They weren't check-out clerks. And they weren't stock-boys. Brenda sure wasn't. And they weren't employees who worked in the fish section or the deli. No. They were on the shelves.

They hadn't been on the shelves very long but in that short time they'd developed a considerably close friendship.

The chatted all day when the store was busy and at night when the store was closed. They talked about everything. The talked about what raw products they came from. The talked about their manufacturing processes. And they talked about the long routes in semi-trailers that brought them to this store.

Oddly enough the one thing they never made clear to one another was just what product each of them was.

One day when Brenda was commenting on their friendship she told Bob she was grateful for their amity. "Are you Tea?" said Bob, pekoe-ing her way. "I thought I was Tea". You're coffee!"
