Pause Ponder and a Pin Prick

Ok. We had some very funny comments this week. In recent weeks we've reached the point where participants are making their own little "in" jokes, referring to previous posts here. Let's see if you can follow along.

Hey, this must be what happened just before last week's PPP
Skeeterphonics

The class bully is suddenly outed as the class weenie.

A young Jackie Chan becomes the first recipient of China's new super-soldier serum.

No stranger to hangin' with dufus, our winner this week decided to try her hand at verse and her fourth comment was the charm...

There once was a little boy Puck
Who with a needle was stuck
He yelled at the nurse
And gave her a curse
He said "Ouch, what the F***"

Congrats Cheryl, you be hangin' with dufus this week. Seeing how this long weekend marks both Canada Day and Independence Day maybe we could get together and watch the fireworks develop. Heh, heh, heh.

And congrats to our honourable mentions and my thanks to everyone who played along. See ya all next Wednesday for our next Pause Ponder and Pun.

I be hangin with the dufus and celebrating with explosive contraband. (fireworks are illegal here in Kansas City for private use)

As always, I had fun and enjoyed the other dufus followers' clever lines.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

And congrats to the honourables!

Thanks for another mention, dufus. (Really, I gotta get some new material for these Saturday comments, sans exclamation marks.)

And to everyone, Happy Canada and Independence Days! Stay comfortably numb (but drink responsibly).

You know, I totally bought that his name was Puck and didn't even think about the rhyming setup.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
